There are two different types of the Giants' Tombs. There are slab types, in which large slabs are buried on their end into the ground. They are usually arranged next to each other. These structures were covered with a mound that resembled a ship that had overturned. There are more primitive giant's tombs. On these, that central slab's doorway is cut at the base. There are often three slabs used to make the entranceway. These are found throughout Sardinia as well.
