Sandy Skoglund was born in 1946 in Quincy, Massachusetts. She received her BA degree in studio art in 1968 from Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts. During 1966-67, she lived in Aix-en-Provence and Paris, France and studied art history at the Sorbonne and the École du Louvre. In 1971, she received a MA degree in painting from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa and in 1972 received a MFA degree in painting from the same university. Ms. Skoglund has been a Professor of Art since 1973, teaching first at the University of Hartford, Hartford Art School, Hartford, Connecticut from 1973 to 1976. She has been teaching at Rutgers University, New Jersey since 1976 and is currently teaching the subjects of photography and the art of installation/multi-media. |
